THIS is the sheet pan meal to end all sheet pan meals! It’s similar to some I’ve made before, but it is by far the easiest one yet, and without sacrificing any flavor. This Sheet Pan Kielbasa, Potatoes, and Green Beans recipe is filling, tasty, and as easy as it gets, with only SIX simple ingredients, and very little hands on time. I don’t know what more you could want from a dinner recipe! 🙌

Can I Use a Different Sausage?

Yes, if you can not find kielbasa, any sort of smoked sausage will taste delicious with this combination of ingredients. It’s so flexible!

Can I Use Fresh Green Beans?

I used frozen green beans for this recipe because they are already cleaned, cut, and blanched before freezing. The blanching keeps the green beans a little more moist as they roast in the oven. You can use fresh green beans if you prefer, just keep in mind that they will dry out a little more while roasting than frozen green beans.

What is Steak Seasoning?

Steak seasoning is my short cut for this recipe. It’s a bottled spice blend, sometimes called Montreal Steak Seasoning, that you should be able to find at any major grocery store in the U.S. It’s a chunky mix of salt, pepper, garlic, red pepper, and sometimes a couple other spices. I love steak seasoning because that chunky grind of the spices gives the dish not only texture but these wonderful pops of flavor in every bite. Don’t skip it! :)

Can I Use Different Potatoes?

Yes! Again, this recipe is so flexible. I used small red potatoes, but you can substitute larger red potatoes or even russet potatoes if that is what you have. Just make sure to cut the potatoes into one-inch pieces so they roast at an even pace with everything else.

How to Make Sheet Pan Kielbasa Potatoes and Green Beans – Step by Step Photos

Meal ingredients whole on the sheet pan

Preheat the oven to 400ºF. This is all that goes into the dinner, plus some olive oil and steak seasoning. How simple is that?? 24oz. petite red potatoes, 12oz. kielbasa, 12oz. frozen green beans, and one yellow onion.

Chopped ingredients on the sheet pan

Chop the potatoes into 1-inch pieces. Slice the kielbasa into medallions. Dice the onion into 1-inch pieces. Add the potatoes, kielbasa, onion, and green beans (no need to thaw) to the sheet pan.

Steak seasoning bottle close up

This is all I used to season the sheet pan meal. The chunky texture of this seasoning blend really adds a lot of texture and flavor differentiation to every bite!

Seasoned sheet pan meal

Add 2 Tbsp olive oil and ½ Tbsp of the steak seasoning to the ingredients on the sheet pan, then toss really well until everything is coated in oil and seasoning.

Roasted sheet pan meal

Then place the sheet pan in the oven, roast for 20 minutes, then give it a good stir. Return it to the oven and roast for about another 15 minutes, or until it’s browned to the level that you like.

It’s hard to describe how awesome this is. It doesn’t even need any sort of dressing or sauce. The fat and seasoning from the kielbasa soak into the potatoes and coats the other vegetables in an incredible amount of flavor, then you have the steak seasoning on top. It’s just 100% awesome! Serve hot and enjoy. :)

  1. I made this tonight for dinner, it was so easy and clean up was a breeze! I love the steak seasoning in general, so I knew this would be tasty. The green beans were the stand out for me, such good flavor! Iโ€™m already planning on making this again, but I may add another veggie (broccoli? Carrots?). Already ready for my leftovers!

    1. Yep, that’s the beauty with this–you can use just about any vegetable! :)

  2. Just finished up our leftovers of this delightful dish. Both my husband and I loved it. Made the recipe as listed (found Montreal Steak Seasoning at Costco) and it was extremely flavorful. Yield was 4 generous servings, add another side and it could easily yield 6 servings. This is going into the Regular Rotation. I look forward to catching Kielbasa on sale to make it even more of a Budget Byte. I second the suggestion to use parchment paper. Made clean-up a breeze! I need to try more sheet pan meals. Love the one-pan cooking without it being a casserole. Thanks for this great recipe and your wonderful website.

  3. This is a super quick and easy base of a recipe! I personally felt it needed a little tangy-ness, so a couple of squirts of whole grain dijon did the trick! I think your mustard vinaigrette from your cabbage, kielbasa, and potato skillet would be amazing with this!

  4. Used turkey kielbasa from Aldi’s, which is lower in calories, but probably not as tasty. Still good. Accidently bought spicy steak seasoning instead of the plain, and the red pepper might have overwhelmed whatever other flavor pops might have been in there.. I’m wondering what spice I might add the next time. Thought it needed something more…. But my husband says I can add it to the rotation and as others have said, it’s quick and easy, with little cleanup!

  5. Very quick and easy for an amateur college student to cook. Not to mention delicious! Will definitely add to the rotation of easy and cheap meals to make that gives plenty of leftovers. Cleanup also wasn’t that bad which helps saving me time.

  6. Loved. The Autumn Medley dish has been a favorite of my family’s and this reminded of that but with a different twist.

  7. Any suggestions for a substitute or how to make the steak seasoning from scratch??

  8. Would canned green beans work for this? I would prefer to use frozen but I have dozens of cans I need to use.

    1. Canned green beans are going to be even more “wet” than the frozen, and definitely softer, so I’m not sure how those would hold up to roasting. You can maybe try adding them after roasting?

  9. This recipe came into my in-box at the perfect time. My mom had gifted me some salami that I had no ideas what to do with and it worked well in the recipe! Thanks for another quick prep, easy clean meal!

    1. Loved this! Two of us ate the entire pan on one sitting. I added a bit of garlic powder in addition to the steak seasoning. Will absolutely make again, super easy!

  10. I did make changes, I did andouille sausage – 1/2″ coin cuts, large onion pieces – 2 medium onions, various carrot pieces (5 count), 2 small chunked yellow squash, fresh sliced 4 garlic cloves, ย 1 – thinly sliced green bell pepper, 2 small cubed russet potatoes (some peel left on), 1 large peeled cubed sweet potato, large handful of grape tomatoes, cajun seasoning – 2 tbspns, sprinkling of siracha salt. I started the potatoes & sausage 20 minutes ahead of adding anything else. I didn’t want the thinly sliced grn bell pepper and garlic to burn along with the grape tomatoes. ย I did spray each of the 2 foil lined cookie sheets with cooking spray placing in the oven and when I turned/mixed everything at the other 20 minute marked timing and sprayed the cooking spray again. I luved this dinner, I could have eaten a whole pan by myself – I have leftovers for tomorrow. ย Next time I make I will need to cut the russet & sweet potato a little smaller to cook quicker. ย Clean up was a breeze with the foil lining. Thanks Beth for another great kick off recipe.ย

  11. Tasty, fast and easy. Perfect weeknight meal. Definitely use with parchment paper.

  12. This was so easy and delicious. Wish I had lined the pan with parchment paper though. Definitely adding it to our rotation.ย

  13. Thanks for this terrific idea. I’m forever at a loss when cooking kielbasa, which is frequently a good buy and which we like–I usually end up cooking it in barbecue sauce, or, less frequently, with cabbage (your recipe, too). But this looks absolutely delicious and I know it will be a hit–onions, potatoes, & green beans are always a perfect combo. One tip with roasting in a sheet pan. Even though I toss the ingredients in some oil, and in this case the kielbasa will render out some fat, I find that spraying the pan with cooking spray helps with the cleanup, particularly that extra buildup in the corners.
