THIS is the sheet pan meal to end all sheet pan meals! It’s similar to some I’ve made before, but it is by far the easiest one yet, and without sacrificing any flavor. This Sheet Pan Kielbasa, Potatoes, and Green Beans recipe is filling, tasty, and as easy as it gets, with only SIX simple ingredients, and very little hands on time. I don’t know what more you could want from a dinner recipe! 🙌

Sheet pan kielbasa, potatoes, and green beans with a spatula

Can I Use a Different Sausage?

Yes, if you can not find kielbasa, any sort of smoked sausage will taste delicious with this combination of ingredients. It’s so flexible!

Can I Use Fresh Green Beans?

I used frozen green beans for this recipe because they are already cleaned, cut, and blanched before freezing. The blanching keeps the green beans a little more moist as they roast in the oven. You can use fresh green beans if you prefer, just keep in mind that they will dry out a little more while roasting than frozen green beans.

What is Steak Seasoning?

Steak seasoning is my short cut for this recipe. It’s a bottled spice blend, sometimes called Montreal Steak Seasoning, that you should be able to find at any major grocery store in the U.S. It’s a chunky mix of salt, pepper, garlic, red pepper, and sometimes a couple other spices. I love steak seasoning because that chunky grind of the spices gives the dish not only texture but these wonderful pops of flavor in every bite. Don’t skip it! :)

Can I Use Different Potatoes?

Yes! Again, this recipe is so flexible. I used small red potatoes, but you can substitute larger red potatoes or even russet potatoes if that is what you have. Just make sure to cut the potatoes into one-inch pieces so they roast at an even pace with everything else.

How to Make Sheet Pan Kielbasa Potatoes and Green Beans – Step by Step Photos

Meal ingredients whole on the sheet pan

Preheat the oven to 400ºF. This is all that goes into the dinner, plus some olive oil and steak seasoning. How simple is that?? 24oz. petite red potatoes, 12oz. kielbasa, 12oz. frozen green beans, and one yellow onion.

Chopped ingredients on the sheet pan

Chop the potatoes into 1-inch pieces. Slice the kielbasa into medallions. Dice the onion into 1-inch pieces. Add the potatoes, kielbasa, onion, and green beans (no need to thaw) to the sheet pan.

Steak seasoning bottle close up

This is all I used to season the sheet pan meal. The chunky texture of this seasoning blend really adds a lot of texture and flavor differentiation to every bite!

Seasoned sheet pan meal

Add 2 Tbsp olive oil and ½ Tbsp of the steak seasoning to the ingredients on the sheet pan, then toss really well until everything is coated in oil and seasoning.

Roasted sheet pan meal

Then place the sheet pan in the oven, roast for 20 minutes, then give it a good stir. Return it to the oven and roast for about another 15 minutes, or until it’s browned to the level that you like.

It’s hard to describe how awesome this is. It doesn’t even need any sort of dressing or sauce. The fat and seasoning from the kielbasa soak into the potatoes and coats the other vegetables in an incredible amount of flavor, then you have the steak seasoning on top. It’s just 100% awesome! Serve hot and enjoy. :)

  1. I remember seeing this recipe for the first time and being like “what, no carrots? that’s odd..” but after a few months I mustered up the courage to just go for it and add in those carrots and I have NEVER been happier! This is a great recipe, Beth! 10/10!

  2. I am about to give up on sheertpan recipes… I followed as described and the potatoes did not cook so I added time on… and the kielbasa started to burn by the time the potoes got soft…

    1. I had the same problem the first time I tried the recipe. My problem was I didn’t cut the potatoes small enough. Second attempt I actually quartered the small potatoes and raised temp to 425. Cooked for 20 minutes – stirred everything around and cooked for another 20 minutes. Turned out perfect! Try it again as this really is an awesome dish.

  3. Love this recipe. I add sliced fresh red/yellow pepper strips; and corn on the cob sliced in rounds. I use italian seasoning and salt/pepper to taste. Yummy!

    1. It’s pretty flexible! If you’re meal prepping for lunch the microwave is just fine. Or if you’re serving the whole thing at one time you can just pop it in the oven or air fryer for a few minutes.

    2. can this recipe be prepped and spiced ahead of time….would like to slice and marinate one day and roast the next?????

  4. Great meal for week night as it’s so quick and easy! Absolutely delicious and is a family favorite!

  5. Trying this tonight ! Didn’t have steak seasoning so used a packet of onion soup mix , so far looks yummy

    1. This is such a versatile meal which is what I love about it. The frozen veggies makes it even easier, and I can add anything else I want. I recently added a sweet potato with the regular potatoes and it was so good. The only thing I struggle with is having so many things making the sheet pan look like it’s overflowing 😅

      1. You can! Just keep in mind that they might dry out a little more while roasting than frozen green beans.

  6. This is one of my “I don’t feel like cooking tonight” meals! Minimal prep and everyone loves it! It’s so filling that I usually don’t need to serve anything else with it. I use the same seasoning as we use on our Thanksgiving turkey- Kinder’s Buttery Steakhouse seasoning. Moment of truth, I don’t measure it. I sprinkle it on until I’m satisfied everything is sufficiently covered :)

  7. I love this recipe for so many reasons- flavor, ease of preparation, etc. One problem that I keep running into, though, is burned kielbasa. Everything else is cooked just right, but the kielbasa burns on the side touching the sheet pan (I do stir partway through). Since I can’t find any other reviews with this issue, I’m guessing it’s a “me” problem… any troubleshooting tips?

    1. You can try adding them to the sheet pan half-way through when you stir everything else. :) If the sheet pan is not very full or the kielbasa is cut into thinner rounds, they’ll brown faster, too.

      1. Thanks! It worked much better that way. Some of the sausage pieces still got a little black, but they were on the sheet pan that ended up on the lower rack (I switched them halfway through), so that’s probably part of the problem. I’m asking for a bigger sheet pan for Christmas, so maybe I’ll be able to keep it all on the middle rack next time! Thanks for your help!

    2. This happens to me. I add the kielbasa at the last half of cook time. Stirring it in

  8. I’ve made this at least ten times and it is always a hit. Simple to put together. Thanks for such a family friendly recipe.

  9. Trying this tonight! We love the smoked turkey kielbasa so grateful for a new way to serve it.

  10. This is definitely going to become one of my regular go-to recipes! So simple and cheap to make—and with veggies already on board no need for side dishes. Next time I may throw some zucchini in there as well.

  11. Made this again tonight. This is my go-to when I don’t want to cook, but want something that’s delicious. I used fresh peppers instead of green beans (because that’s what I had). I’ve come to realize that this recipe is so versatile—just use what you have. Cooking times may vary, but for me that’s not an issue.

  12. Super easy and yummy! I didn’t have potatoes so I left them out and served with pasta salad! Happy dinner for me :)

  13. This is a once-a-week staple in our house! It’s even good re-heated the next day. Would love instructions on how to also do this in an air fryer!!!

  14. Just came to say that this is a STAPLE in our house. I probably make it once per grocery run! — Do you think this could be prepped ahead and frozen to cook later?

    1. Since we haven’t tested that method ourselves, I can’t be certain it will work out. You can definitely go ahead and slice the kielbasa and store it in an air-tight container in the fridge for a few days. Freezing potatoes will slightly change their texture and become “mealy” or “grainy” (which many people find unpleasant) because they have high water content. I’m not sure how swapping a pre-frozen red potato will affect the bake times and outcomes. Onions also don’t freeze well for recipes where they are meant to be eaten alone (rather than added into a sauce or something like that), and slicing them too far in advance will cause them to produce off-flavors and unpleasant smells. I hope that helps! ~ Marion :)

  15. So delicious! I think I overcooked the potatoes because they were a little dry but still very edible.
Southern green beans and potatoes were one of my favorite meals as a kid and I knew I’d love this one too.
    Thanks for this recipe.

  16. Made this for the family. My dad, husband and son absolutely LOVED it. I’m definitely adding it to the dinner rotation.

  17. Fantastic. I’ve been making a recipe similar to this for years, but with bell peppers instead of green beans. It just so happened that I had some frozen green beans I wanted to use up so this was perfect. Definitely a keeper – thank you!

  18. This is my absolute favorite hectic/tired/whatever night dinner. It’s SO easy and everyone loves it. And because chopping doesn’t need to be super uniform or aesthetically pleasing, my younger kiddos can easily chop sausage & potatoes to their hearts content, gaining them skills and a love for cooking.
I use Kinder’s buttery steakhouse seasoning and it adds the perfect touch of butter flavor to meat & veggies.

  19. I made this a few times, love it! I think next time I’m going to add some butternut squash!

  20. I love this recipe! I’ve made it twice so far and immensely enjoyed it each time- my boyfriend is a fan too! I used smoked turkey sausage as that’s what I like. As a college student that lives alone and can struggle to meal prep, this is a lifesaver of a recipe! Thanks!!!

  21. So easy and so good! Made just as written and also did an extra sheet pan of more potatoes and broccoli for my bigger family.

  22. Thank you for the great recipe. It’s seriously so fast to put together and super tasty. All I had was Italian seasons and that worked great, I ground some pepper too. Ours was done in 35 minutes, not super browned but just golden on the edges of the potatoes. Ive tried this with kielbasa from the natural food store but I think it works best with a hillshire sausage vibe with a proper hit of salt. That way I don’t have to add any other salt to the dish.

  23. Made this for dinner tonight for a VERY picky family. My in-laws each have things they will not eat, but this fit the bill. My father in-law actually ate veggies! Next time I’ll double or even triple the recipe. So delicious and so easy! We used salt-free Mrs. Dash Garlic & Herb seasoning, olive oil, and a little bit of dill weed. Then those of us that wanted salt added a salt blend to serve. There were ZERO leftovers and almost not enough to feed the 5 of us! Mother in-law rated it a 12/10.

  24. Really simple and really good! Great weeknight dinner. Mine ended up taking 45 mins. I also made a la crema (sour cream, tiny bit of hot sauce, and water to give a runny consistency). Will make again!

  25. another total win. I threw this together after an insane day at work. As i do with most of my sheet pan dinners, I put half a block of feta in the center of the pan to roast along w/ the veg. It gets brown on top and holds its shape, but is creamy and melty inside. I also didn’t have Montreal Steak seasoning, so I used Kroger Simple Truth ‘tuscan trattoria’ seasioning. Otherwise I followed the recipe. I’m so glad I now know I can put frozen green beans in a sheet pan dinner, because I always have a bag of the long, skinny frozen green beans on hand.
    thank you Beth!

  26. I’ve made this for what seems like the 955th time. Always quick and delicious. This recipe is for anyone that needs to eat, but doesn’t want to cook or have the time to.

  27. This was so easy and so good, I used more steak seasoning because my husband like extra flavor, he ate two helpings and took some for lunch the next day. I’ll be making this again.

  28. Such a filling weeknight meal with ingredients that are easy to keep on-hand.  With a teenage son in the house, I doubled the kielbasa and increased the steak seasoning the second time I made this to ensure no one left the table wanting more.

  29. This is a great meal that is so easy to throw together, and has the meat and veg all together. It’s a really great option for a weeknight meal. My family loves it too.

  30. I love this recipe.  I swapped out the steak seasoning since my teenage son isn’t into spicy food for smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and Italian seasoning.  I’ve made it twice now and it’s a hit.  Thanks for an easy recipe with easy cleanup! :-)

  31. I’m a hater of frozen green beans, but not frozen vegetables. Any suggestion for another vegetable?

  32. Made this tonight and added frozen bell peppers and paprika. Took 45 mins, not 35. I love sheet pan dinners!

  33. So delicious and easy! I used bulk sausage since I didn’t have polish sausage. Still turned out great!

  34. This recipe was really flavorful and super easy. I didn’t know what to do with myself with all the spare time this meal afforded me.  Flavor was on point.  I used Kayem brand kielbasa and doubled the onions because we like that around here.  I was just a little bit more liberal with the steak seasoning than what the recipe calls for.  I left it in the oven for an additional 10 minutes, the last 5 being on a low broil.  I will definitely be making this one again and again.  It’ll be fun to experiment with other root vegetables but the frozen beans are a cinch and perfect when cooked this way.

  35. Made this for dinner tonight and it instantly became a family favorite! I used russet potatoes, skinless kielbasa and frozen broccoli because that’s what I had on hand. Can’t wait to make this again!

  36. This was absolutely delicious.  My potatoes came out fully cooked and nice and roasted and the green beans were moist while crispy!  I took mine out 5 mins early. And it was so easy!  My sausage was 14 oz, my green beans were 16 oz, and I used 2 pounds of potatoes. I think the previous poster maybe had the sheet pan too crowded.

  37. Absolutely not enough time for potatoes. Going on an hour and still not done.

    1. You might want to double-check that your oven is heating to the correct temperature. Even whole russet potatoes will usually be cooked through after an hour after 400F, and small pieces cook much faster.

  38. just put this in the oven XCEPT had a bit more potato and no green beans. did have a half package of breaded okra and added that. also had some Rendevous steak seasoning and used that. We’ll see……

  39. I just made this last night. I was delicious! I think that you can substitute almost any vegetable for the green beans. Roasted food is the best!

  40. Awesome and simple. I’ve been trying to do more sheet pan recipes like this. I put on a spoonful of sour cream to the green beans and potatoes. Made it taste like green bean casserole. Will make this again for sure!!

  41. This recipe is so simple and so good!  My family loved it and we will definitely have it again!

  42. Amazing! We love this recipe and eat it almost every week! We have tried different types of sausage also just to try and change it up and it always turns out so good!

  43. Love this recipe!! Soooo good! We use the roasted garlic chicken sausage and petite gold potatoes. I’ve already made this recipe 4x. It reheats well too, works well for meal prepping!

  44. i just want to say WOW is this a great tasting meal. Kielbasa is usually made in our slow cooker, but not ever again. This was sooooo easy to make i couldn’t believe it. This will be a family staple.

  45. This is the first budget bytes recipe I am disappointed in and I have tried many. The potatoes and sausage were so stick to the pan despite stirring them halfway through. The green beans were mushy. I followed the recipe exactly.

  46. This was such a great tasting recipe, and super simple. Made for great lunch leftovers the next day for my husband and reheated well.

  47. I’ve made this twice now and will be keeping it on the regular rotation. Everyone in the family likes it – from teenagers to grandparents. So easy and simple and yet so tasty!

  48. Really loved this one! This is probably the 5th or 6th budget bytes recipe I’ve done and Beth always has the best ideas. I like my potatoes extra soft and my green beans borderline uncooked, so put my potatoes and onion (only did 1/2 an onion) in first, then added the smoked sausage (I used the Trader Joes apple chicken smoked sausage) after fifteen minutes or so. Added the green beans in during the last ten minutes of cooking. So good with sour cream :)

  49. Did not enjoy this recipe. I guess you could say it was my fault because what could I have really expected from this? Just pretty plain and not very appetizing. Left overs went uneaten.

    1. Interesting. If you found it so unappealing, unappetizing, and pretty plain… why did you make this recipe in the first place? lol

  50. Made this tonight for dinner and it was a huge hit! Even my veggie and potato hating son was a fan!

  51. Sounds great! I have turkey andouille sausage in the fridge, do you think that would work here?

  52. After roasting, a couple of tablespoons of balsamic vinegar and one of honey mixed in really add a delightful punch.

  53. I made this last week and made it again today, but this time I did two sheet pans because it reheats so well for lunch! My kids love this, too. Highly recommend.

  54. This was a huge hit with both my kids (and the adults too)! Such easy prep and a pretty well-rounded meal. I used turkey kielbasa, which came out delicious. I will probably cut the potatoes smaller next time. The pieces were slightly too large, so I ended up cooking for longer.

  55. Don’t give up…it’s AMAZING!! Halfway through this cooking time I thought “oh crap, another online recipe gone to waste…” eye roll and sigh…then in the last 15 mins magic happened before my eyes!!! And IT IS DELICIOUS!! Never forgetting this one! SUCH a keeper!!! Thank you so much. Love love love. So happy to have something new and delicious in our family rotation in the new year!!!

  56. Excellent recipe, on regular rotation now!
I have 2 9yo and a 6yo, and they ate every bite (one even went back for seconds!).
I did not have steak seasoning, so I subbed in garlic powder, parsley, salt, and pepper.
Great and EASY meal for a busy day!

  57. Love this recipe! Made it for the second time last night. This time I cut the kielbasa thinner than I did the first time, so as to spread it around the individual bites when eating and I’m pleased with that choice. Also, once it’s on the plate I like to drizzle with a little spicy mustard for a bit more kick.

  58. Could I use fresh green beans for this as writen or would something about the recipe need to change?

    1. The kielbasa contains a lot of herbs and spices, which adds a lot of seasoning to the overall dish. It also has a higher fat content, which kind of creates a “sauce” as it renders, coating everything in a lot of flaver. So while you probably can do something similar with steak tips, it will probably end up quite different. You also need to be careful with steak tips because they may cook a lot faster than the kielbasa.

  59. Always a favorite. Seriously, so beautiful, so healthy. Used a turkey kielbasa and even added some mushrooms and cauliflower. Deeelish. .

  60. was kielbasa-less and thinking this dish might be lacking flavor without it – but nooo!   it was ridiculously delicious!!!  the green beans crisp up to perfection.  added dried parsley and a
little garlic powder.  thanks so much for sharing!!!!

  61. Fantastic recipe!! My partner who is picky about vegetables raved about the green beans. I added a few of my own spices – garlic powder, onion powder, onion salt, black pepper). This recipe was amazing by itself or paired with a little steaming white jasmine rice. Thank you so much Budget Bytes!!

  62. I made this just now for supper, and it was delicious!! So simple to make, without sacrificing the flavour. Each ingredient complemented each other well.

  63. I made this tonight for dinner, it was so easy and clean up was a breeze! I love the steak seasoning in general, so I knew this would be tasty. The green beans were the stand out for me, such good flavor! I’m already planning on making this again, but I may add another veggie (broccoli? Carrots?). Already ready for my leftovers!

    1. Yep, that’s the beauty with this–you can use just about any vegetable! :)

  64. Just finished up our leftovers of this delightful dish. Both my husband and I loved it. Made the recipe as listed (found Montreal Steak Seasoning at Costco) and it was extremely flavorful. Yield was 4 generous servings, add another side and it could easily yield 6 servings. This is going into the Regular Rotation. I look forward to catching Kielbasa on sale to make it even more of a Budget Byte. I second the suggestion to use parchment paper. Made clean-up a breeze! I need to try more sheet pan meals. Love the one-pan cooking without it being a casserole. Thanks for this great recipe and your wonderful website.

  65. This is a super quick and easy base of a recipe! I personally felt it needed a little tangy-ness, so a couple of squirts of whole grain dijon did the trick! I think your mustard vinaigrette from your cabbage, kielbasa, and potato skillet would be amazing with this!

  66. Used turkey kielbasa from Aldi’s, which is lower in calories, but probably not as tasty. Still good. Accidently bought spicy steak seasoning instead of the plain, and the red pepper might have overwhelmed whatever other flavor pops might have been in there.. I’m wondering what spice I might add the next time. Thought it needed something more…. But my husband says I can add it to the rotation and as others have said, it’s quick and easy, with little cleanup!

  67. Very quick and easy for an amateur college student to cook. Not to mention delicious! Will definitely add to the rotation of easy and cheap meals to make that gives plenty of leftovers. Cleanup also wasn’t that bad which helps saving me time.

  68. Loved. The Autumn Medley dish has been a favorite of my family’s and this reminded of that but with a different twist.

  69. Any suggestions for a substitute or how to make the steak seasoning from scratch??

  70. Would canned green beans work for this? I would prefer to use frozen but I have dozens of cans I need to use.

    1. Canned green beans are going to be even more “wet” than the frozen, and definitely softer, so I’m not sure how those would hold up to roasting. You can maybe try adding them after roasting?

  71. This recipe came into my in-box at the perfect time. My mom had gifted me some salami that I had no ideas what to do with and it worked well in the recipe! Thanks for another quick prep, easy clean meal!

    1. Loved this! Two of us ate the entire pan on one sitting. I added a bit of garlic powder in addition to the steak seasoning. Will absolutely make again, super easy!

  72. I did make changes, I did andouille sausage – 1/2″ coin cuts, large onion pieces – 2 medium onions, various carrot pieces (5 count), 2 small chunked yellow squash, fresh sliced 4 garlic cloves,  1 – thinly sliced green bell pepper, 2 small cubed russet potatoes (some peel left on), 1 large peeled cubed sweet potato, large handful of grape tomatoes, cajun seasoning – 2 tbspns, sprinkling of siracha salt. I started the potatoes & sausage 20 minutes ahead of adding anything else. I didn’t want the thinly sliced grn bell pepper and garlic to burn along with the grape tomatoes.  I did spray each of the 2 foil lined cookie sheets with cooking spray placing in the oven and when I turned/mixed everything at the other 20 minute marked timing and sprayed the cooking spray again. I luved this dinner, I could have eaten a whole pan by myself – I have leftovers for tomorrow.  Next time I make I will need to cut the russet & sweet potato a little smaller to cook quicker.  Clean up was a breeze with the foil lining. Thanks Beth for another great kick off recipe.

  73. Tasty, fast and easy. Perfect weeknight meal. Definitely use with parchment paper.

  74. This was so easy and delicious. Wish I had lined the pan with parchment paper though. Definitely adding it to our rotation.

  75. Thanks for this terrific idea. I’m forever at a loss when cooking kielbasa, which is frequently a good buy and which we like–I usually end up cooking it in barbecue sauce, or, less frequently, with cabbage (your recipe, too). But this looks absolutely delicious and I know it will be a hit–onions, potatoes, & green beans are always a perfect combo. One tip with roasting in a sheet pan. Even though I toss the ingredients in some oil, and in this case the kielbasa will render out some fat, I find that spraying the pan with cooking spray helps with the cleanup, particularly that extra buildup in the corners.
